A.J. Richard, the 'Son' in his chain's name P.C. Richard & Son, celebrated his 92nd birthday on October 11th with a special tribute. His "friends at the [New York] Daily News," where many of the chain's newspaper ads appear, saluted him with a full-page ad featuring a sketch of him by famed sports cartoonist Bill Gallo…. Don Iwatani, chairman/CEO of Matsushita Electric Corp. of America, was presented with the International Center's 2001 Distinguished Contributions to Excellence Award during a dinner at New York's Waldorf-Astoria hotel earlier this month. Iwatani, who has spent more than 20 years in the U.S., joins Henry Kissinger, cellist Yo Yo Ma, broadcaster Alistair Cooke and Atlantic Records co-founder Ahmet Ertegun, who received the award in previous years. Steve Mulnick rejoins McIntosh Laboratory as national sales and marketing director. Previously serving at McIntosh in home and car audio positions before moving to Weltronics and then to IntelliNet Controls, he takes on some of the responsibilities of Ed Brown, who resigned as global sales & marketing VP…John Johnsen returns to Now Hear This (NHT) as sales director for home and pro audio products. Johnsen previously held the position from 1990 - 1997 and takes over the role from Randy Dowis, who now moves to marketing director. Johnsen was, along with Byrne, a co-founder of Vergence Technology from 1997 - 1999. He then served as Parasound Director of Sales and Marketing from 1999 – 2001…. Jerry Wagner, former Panja/AMX regional sales manager, joins Crestron as National Key Dealer Manager…Sally House, Kenwood advertising & promotions manager, named marketing communications manager. Also at Kenwood Brian Towne, national product manager/home electronics, adds mobile electronics to his duties. And Jim Yamasaki, eastern regional training manager for mobile electronics, named navigation product manager, a new post.
