Yamaha Marks Next Generation In Digital Drums

Staff -- TWICE, 9/24/2001

BUENA PARK, CALIF.— A next generation in personal digital drums has been introduced by Yamaha Corporation of America. Called the DD35 and DD55, both models contain everything a user needs to do some serious drumming. This all comes in an affordable tabletop package, with built-in speaker systems, drum pads and a variety of patterns.

The sound quality of the DD55 has been improved with stereo voices, a bass boost system and the addition of DSP. Guide lamps to help the user play the right note at the right time is available with the DD35. Four pads, each with a lighted ring, may be played with sticks or hands. A footswitch controls the bass drum. Built-in games, using the lighted rings, are included.

The DD35 and DD55, with respective suggested retails of $249.95 and $299.95, currently are available.
