Harman Extends OEM Sales Deal To Mercedes-Benz

WASHINGTON— Harman International announced that Harman/Becker is expanding its OEM sales of computers/infotainment system to Mercedes-Benz and will now supply all Mercedes-Benz navigation systems.

Under the new contracts, Harman/Becker will supply Mercedes-Benz E Class vehicles with integrated infotainment systems beginning in January, and S Class vehicles with DVD navigation systems. The deal represents approximately $150 million in incremental sales for Harman for fiscal 2003, $300 million in fiscal 2004 and over $400 million in fiscal 2005, said the company.

Harman also announced it reached an agreement with Pioneer and JVC to license its Traffic Pro hardware and software beginning in 2003.
