CEA Announces Its Fall Meeting Details, 2002 CES Keynoters

Arlington, Va.— The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) has signed three keynote speakers for the 2002 International CES and has released details on its annual fall conference to be held this fall.
The first keynote speaker for CES, to be held next January in Las Vegas, is Dr. Daeje Chin, president/CEO of Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. Digital Media Business, who will deliver the opening keynote address the morning of Jan. 8. That afternoon Carly Fiorina, chairman and CEO of Hewlett-Packard, will deliver a keynote speech. And on January 10 William T. Esrey, chairman and CEO of Sprint, will be the featured speaker at CES.
CEA also reports that more than 250 of its members and top consumer electronics industry leaders will meet at the annual CEA Industry Forum and Fall Conference, to be held Oct. 15 to 17 at the LaQuinta Resort in Palm Springs, Calif.
This year's Industry Forum will include the "Emerging Audio Technology Summit: The Future Of Audio," which will discuss emerging audio technologies in a digitally networked home and evaluate how these technologies may impact the future of audio. In addition an "Emerging Technology Forum" will review the latest consumer technologies to hit the market, such as broadband solutions and connectivity in the home. And as part of the overall conference, the progress of digital television will be discussed.
