Turtle Beach Updates Headsets

ELMSFORD, N.Y. — Just a few days prior to International CES, Turtle Beach took the wraps off the products it planned to show to attendees.

The Ear Force X42 wireless Dolby surround-sound and Ear Force X32 wireless stereo Xbox 360 headsets are billed as replacements for the company’s Ear Force X31 and X41 models. The updated versions feature 2.4GHz dualband Wi-Fi and 50mm drivers. Suggested retail is $99.99 for the X32 and $159 for the X42. Availability wasn’t set at press time.

The Ear Force DSS2 surround-sound processor for stereo headsets features six variable speaker configurations, offering custom-tuned angles to optimize the surround-sound effect for any listener, Turtle Beach said.

It’s currently available for $79.99.

The Ear Force Z11 wired stereo PC gaming headset has 50mm drivers and is meant to be an affordable option for gamers. Suggested retail is $39.95. Availability wasn’t set.

The company also introduced three gaming headsets meant for portability. The Ear Force M5 mobile gaming headset had 40mm drivers, noise-isolating gear cups, in-line mic with call control, and a $49.95 suggested retail.

The Ear Force M3 mobile gaming headset ($39.95) has 40mm drivers and can fold flat for storage. It also has noise-isolating ear cups and an in-line mic. The Ear Force M1 mobile gaming ear buds have 10mm neodymium drivers and come with an in-line mic and braided cable. Suggested retail is $59.95. Availability for these mobile headsets had not been set.
