JL Audio Upgrades Car Subwoofer Series

Miramar, Fla. - JL Audio has upgraded its small-enclosure subwoofers for the car to deliver higher power handling, greater output, and improved accuracy, the company said.
JL Audio's 10-inch 10W6v3 car subwoofer at a suggested $599.Version 3 of the company's small-enclosure W6 subs ship in the second quarter. They're priced at a suggested $599 for the 10-inch 10W6v3 and at $699 for the 12-inch 12W6v3. The subs require sealed enclosures with volumes of 0.625 cubic feet and 1.25 cubic feet, respectively.
Improvements to the models include a motor system that's 20 percent larger on the 12-inch sub and 26 percent larger on the 10-inch sub, 14 percent greater linear excursion on the 12-inch and 23 percent more on the 10-inch, an improved cooling circuit design, and a new suspension system with wide rubber surround and progressive-roll spider to control the increased excursion capability, the company said.
Both models are dual 4-ohm models with a terminal-jumper system to allow for parallel or series wiring. Both models also have a recommended power range of 200-600 watts.
