By Doug Olenick -- TWICE, 1/19/2012

Round Rock, Texas - Dell's Alienware gaming brand has introduced its smallest gaming desktop PC, the X51.

The configure-to-order X51 uses Intel's second-generation Core i processors, Nvidia GeForce GT or GTX class graphics cards, 802.11n Wi-Fi, HDMI 1.4, and two USB 3.0 ports and additional USB 2.0 ports.

A typical entry-level configuration would feature an Intel Dual Core i3 processor, 4GB of memory, 1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 545 graphics card, 1TB 7,200 rpm hard drive and DVD burner for about $699, the company said.

Upgrade options include Dual Core i5 and i7 processors, Intel's H61 Express Chipset architecture, mini-ITX motherboard, 1GB GDDR5 Nvidia GeForce GTX 555 graphics, 8GB of DDR3 memory, 7.1-channel audio, up to six USB 2.0 ports, 240- or 330-watt Alienware power supply, and a slot-loading Blu-ray reader.

The model is now available on Dell.com and Aliewnware.com.
