CES 2012: Dell Intros XPS 13

Las Vegas - Dell unveiled its XPS 13 Ultrabook at International CES this week.

The 2.99-pound device is centered on a 13.3-inch display and can be powered by a selection of Intel Core i5 and i7 processors.

It will become available at the end of February with a starting price of $999.

The unit, which will be configure to order, comes with 4GB of DDR3 SDRAM, either a 128GB or 256GB solid state drive, Intel HD 3000 video graphics, USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports and a 1.3- megapixel camera.

Jeff Clarke, Dell's global operations VP, said the XPS 13 is optimized for enterprise use as well as consumer with better security and the ability to be managed by IT departments.

Dell's XPS line now comprises about 20 percent of the company's consumer laptop business and revenue for the line has increased 207 percent over last year, the company said.
