Jay Penney Joins Almo

Philadelphia - National CE and appliance distributor Almo Corp. has appointed majap industry veteran Jay Penney business development VP.

Penney, the longtime sales link to independent dealers and distributors for Frigidaire and Electrolux, was tapped to help Almo grow it white-goods business.

"Jay's wealth of experience adds another dimension to Almo," said president/COO Warren Chaiken. "His expertise in the appliance industry will help us to grow and intensify our focus on the customer," which will enhance the distributor's relationships with customers and manufacturers, he said.

Penney brings more than 26 years of majaps experience, most recently as an Electrolux sales executive variously responsible for national and dealer sales, production, and product management over a 15-year career there.

He left Electrolux in 2010 rather than relocate from the company's longtime base in Augusta, Ga., to its new headquarters in Charlotte, N.C. He continues to reside in Augusta with his family.

"I look forward to working with Almo to better serve the independent U.S. dealer by bringing manufacturing expertise to the distribution side of the business," Penney said.
