Sony Tablet Gets Video-Download Service

Foster City, Calif. - Sony has added its Video Unlimited Service to the Sony Tablet S.The service is already available on 2010 and 2011 network-enabled Sony Bravia TVs, Blu-ray disc players, and Blu-ray-equipped HTiBs as well as on the PlayStation3, PlayStation Portable, personal computers, and select SonyEricsson Android smartphones.
For the Wi-Fi-equipped Tablet S, Video Unlimited is a download service enabling users to rent or purchases movies and TV show episodes in standard definition. For PCs and Sony home products, Video Unlimited is a streaming service offering standard- and high-definition video and some 3D movies.
Video Unlimited's library consists of more than 40,000 movies and TV episodes from major studios and distributors, including blockbusters, classic movies, local language movies.
Rental prices for SD content on the tablets start at $2.99. Purchase prices start at $9.99.
The 16GB version of the Tablet S retailers for a suggested $499. The 32GB version retails for a suggested $599.
