TWICE Staff -- TWICE, 10/12/2011

Lake Success, N.Y. - Coby plans to launch new Kyros tablets and add access to the GetJar market of free downloadable Android apps.

MID812Coby's new tablets, including the 8-inch MID8127, will access GetJar's store of free downloadable Android app.
Under the GetJar arrangement, Kyros owners will be able to click on a pre-installed GetJar app to download apps for education, social networking and messaging, entertainment, finance, food, games, health, search, lifestyle, maps, music, news and weather, photos, productivity and the like.

GetJar will come preloaded on Coby's newest Android 2.3 tablets beginning this month with the 7-inch MID7012 and followed in time for the holidays by three new capacitive-touch models. Those are the 7-inch MID7127, 8-inch MID8127 and 10.1-inch MID1126. Coby's first three tablets, available earlier this year, offered resistive touchscreens.

GetJar also is compatible with existing Kyros tablets through an APK accessible on the Coby Electronics website.

GetJar of San Mateo, Calif., promotes itself as the world's largest free app store.
