Apple Refreshes iPod Lineup

Cupertino, Calif. - Apple refreshed its iPod line with slight upgrades and price changes on the iPod Touch and Nano, with the 8GB Nano going to a suggested $129 from $149 and the 16GB Nano going to $149 from $179.

 The 8GB iPod Touch goes to $199 from $229, and the 32GB and 64GB Touches remain at $299 and $399 and come in black and white versions. The Shuffle gets additional clock faces and remains at $49 for a 2GB model.

The new iPod Nano becomes available today starting at just $129 for the 8GB version and features a redesigned user interface delivering larger icons on its multitouch display for easier navigation. It also gets 16 new clock faces, including a Mickey Mouse clock display, and improved built-in fitness features.

The iPod Nano is available today at Apple stores and Apple's online store at a suggested $129 for the 8GB model and $149 for the 16GB model. Both models are available in silver, graphite, blue, green, orange and pink.

The iPod Touch adds the previously announced iOS 5, which accesses the new iCloud backup and automatic syncing service that goes live Oct.12. The Touch with iOS 5 and iCloud will be available Oct. 12 in black and white for a suggested price of $199 for the 8GB model, $299 like before for the 32GB model and $399 like before for the 64GB model through Apple's stores, Apple's online store and authorized retailers.
