Coby Big Screens To Get TruSurround XT

By Greg Tarr -- TWICE, 9/29/2011

Santa Ana, Ca. - SRS Labs and Coby Electronics have teamed up to put the SRS TruSurround XT, front-rendered surround sound system, in Coby's large-screen TVs.

"Throughout the years, TV display technologies have become quite refined, enabling consumers to view their favorite content in ways they've never seen before. However, great display quality only provides half of the overall entertainment experience," stated Steve Roney, Jr., SRS Labs product marketing director.

"To complete the full entertainment experience, TV manufacturers rely nearly exclusively on SRS' industry leading audio and surround enhancement technologies to complement the remarkable video performance of their products. Our TruSurround XT is known worldwide as one of the most effective front-rendered surround sound solutions available and it is the perfect companion to Coby's advanced new flat-panel TVs to boost their overall performance," Roney added.

SRS TruSurround XT was developed to deliver an enveloping surround sound experience with clear dialog and rich bass for the built-in stereo speakers on a TV set.

SRS said the technology produces a wider "sweet spot," allowing multichannel audio content sound as if it were delivered from a multiple speaker array around the room.

"We're very excited about this new partnership and the opportunity it gives us to introduce this benchmark SRS technology into our newest LED TVs," said Michael Paladino, Coby senior product marketing manager. "Coby is committed to providing consumers with the most sought-after features and products in the CE arena - and we're thrilled to further enhance our customers' home entertainment experience with the addition of best-in-class SRS audio solutions to our sleek large-screen models."

The first Coby models to carry TruSurround XT include: the 46-inch LEDTV4626 LED LCD TV and 55-inch LEDTV5536 LED LCD TV.

The technology will be added to additional strategic TV models in the Coby line going forward.
