Belkin Names Pipkin President/CEO

By Lisa Johnston -- TWICE, 9/9/2011

Playa Vista, Calif. - Belkin announced that Mark Reynoso has stepped down as president and CEO.

He will be replaced by Chet Pipkin, Belkin's founder and chairman of the board. Reynoso has also vacated his position on Belkin's board of directors.

A reason for Reynoso's departure wasn't given, and Belkin didn't respond to TWICE inquiries as of this posting.

Belkin said Pipkin is not "an interim caretaker" and will lead the company in the long term. He was president and CEO until 2010 when Reynoso, then president, was promoted.

"I want to thank Mark for his visionary leadership that has been integral to our growth since joining Belkin in a product management role in 1996," Pipkin said in a statement. "I am excited about rejoining the business on a day-to-day basis, rolling up my sleeves, and seeing to it that Belkin maintains momentum in numerous markets in which we have long been respected and successful."
