AnyData Readies First Tablet Model

Orlando, Fla. - AnyData of Irvine, Calif., is launching the first in a line of tablets here at the CTIA convention.

The company's first tablet features Android OS, 7-inch touchscreen and availability in a Wi-Fi-only version and has a 1.25GHz dual-core processor. The a Wi-Fi/3G version is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz processor and is operating in CDMA EV-DO Rev. A 800/1900 mode. The device will be available through "a leading Tier II U.S. network," the company said.

Both versions are positioned as value-priced but offer all of the features of "market-leading devices," said the company, which has focused mainly on white-label manufacturing but plans to focus more on selling products under its own brand.

Features include WSVGA display and dual cameras. It will ship with tablet-optimized Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) OS.

The 3G version can also be used as a mobile hotspot for other Wi-Fi devices.

The AMD 120/810, which weighs less than 1 pound (440 grams), also features Bluetooth 3.0, USB 2.0, HDMI output, dual speakers, microphone, 3.5mm ear jack, MicroSD slot, accelerometer, gyroscope, digital compass and light sensor. The 3G version adds assisted GPS and stand-alone GPS for driving or walking.

Both models feature 3-megapixel, auto-focus rear camera/camcorder with zoom and a 1.3-megapixel webcam for video chat. The tablet also features HD video recording, 1080p/60 fps video storage and a media player with SRS virtual surround sound.

The tablet will be sold through distributors.
