Fred Towns To Head Synnex CE Divisions

TWICE Staff -- TWICE, 2/18/2011

Carson, Calif. - Fred Towns has been named president of Synnex's two CE divisions, New Age Electronics and Jack of All Games, as of March 1.

Towns is currently sales and marketing senior VP for the divisions, and will replace Adam Carroll, who is retiring at the end of the month.

Carroll co-founded and served as president of New Age Electronics, Inc. before its acquisition by Synnex Corporation in 2008.

"Adam's vision and leadership positioned New Age Electronics as a leader in the consumer electronics industry, and he has played a vital role in making the integration of the consumer electronics business a success," said Peter Larocque, president of  U.S. distribution for Synnex.

"He has built a solid bench of talented leaders, including Fred Towns, and he is now moving forward with his personal life, while continuing on as an executive advisor."

Towns previously served as senior VP of New Age Electronics before its acquisition by Synnex

"Fred has been a driver of our consumer electronics success over the past three years and helped make the integration of New Age Electronics into Synnex a seamless one. All this, coupled with his exceptional background in consumer electronics industry for over 27 years, made our decision to promote Fred to president an obvious one," said Larocque.
