D&H To Carry Sony Ericsson Phones

TWICE Staff -- TWICE, 1/13/2011

Harrisburg, Pa. - D&H Distributing will carry Sony Ericsson's mobile phones, including the Xperia X8 smartphone, and the Xperia X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro smartphones, all powered by the Android OS.

The agreement also covers the Aspen and Vivaz Pro smartphones, and should include additional Sony Ericsson models to be introduced in 2011. This new relationship helps to expand D&H's growing lineup of Android-based products.

In D&H's press release it describes Android as having grown "into a compelling mobile OS, having recently hit an impressive milestone of 300,000 smartphone activations per day," quoting Google executive Andy Rubin.  It is an open-source platform, which unlike several other prominent mobile operating systems, gives users a wider choice of carriers such as Verizon, D&H said. As an open paradigm, Android will be able to accommodate a range of mobile formats including both smartphones and tablets, letting individuals or offices take advantage of a more comprehensive suite of products running on the same basic OS.
