Sears Starting Pre-Black Friday Sales

Hoffman Estates, Ill. - Sears is bringing back its pre-Black Friday sales program beginning this week.

The weekly "Now" sale events will run every Friday and Saturday starting Oct. 29. The program differs from last year's "Black Friday Now" promotion in that it will continue through Christmas and will be coupled with a layaway option.

"Last year, customer response to our Black Friday Now deals was overwhelmingly positive, many were thrilled that they did not have to wait for holiday deals," said David Friedman, senior VP and marketing president of Sears Holdings. "This year, we wanted to extend these deals to two days to help our customers get the best quality gifts for the ones they love without breaking the bank."

The sale events will take place every Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon, and the extended layaway plan, which is available in store and online, gives customers 12 weeks to pay for purchases.

This week's launch sale will include an RCA 40-inch 1080p LCD for $500, reduced from $570.

The 16-page, 158-item insert was leaked online earlier this month.
