Microsoft Intros LifeCam Studio

Redmond, Wash. - Microsoft added to its LifeCam webcam line today with the addition of a 1080p model.

The LifeCam Studio has a tripod thread design.

The LifeCam Studio features a native 1080p sensor that is more than twice as large as the 720p HD sensors on the market, Microsoft said. It also features a tripod thread design, a 360-degree view range, and an elongated hood "to help protect the lens from stray light to avoid washed-out colors."

Other features include improved autofocus, a glass element lens, TrueColor Technology to deliver bright and color video, and ClearFrame Technology to keep video smooth and detailed in low light.

The LifeCam Studio will be available exclusively at Best Buy stores later this month for the estimated retail of $99.95 and is available on BestBuy.com starting today.
