Funai Juggles Top Managers

Rutherford, N.J. - Funai disclosed this week that it has undergone a corporate realignment.

In the move Yoshikazu Uemura, president and chief operating officer, was named director, officer, and general manager of the TV division at Funai Electric based in Osaka, Japan.

Uemura will be concurrently responsible for the corporations business in North America.

Ernie Padalino takes over as president & chief operating officer. Padalino has been with Funai for the past 24 years, most recently serving as sales and marketing senior VP.

In his new assignment, Padalino will be responsible for establishing and implementing mid-term goals and strategies for Funai's growth.

Stewart Mitchell joined Funai as the new sales and marketing senior VP. Mitchell, who was formerly Sharp Electronics senior Vp and chief strategy officer, is a 31-year veteran of the consumer electronics.
