Logitech Adds To Ultimate Ears Line

By Lisa Johnston -- TWICE, 8/30/2010

Fremont, Calif. — Logitech introduced a new line of earphones under its Ultimate Ears unit.

Two new headsets were also debuted.

Three products were part of the noise-isolating earphones line: The Ultimate Ears 500, the Ultimate Ears 350 and the Ultimate Ears 200.

The 500 model ($69.99) are engineered to sit flush with a user’s ears. Features include single-diaphragm speakers, noise isolation up to 26 dBs, a no-tangle cord and customizable ear cushions. Frequency range is listed at 20Hz to 20kHz, with impedance at 16 ohms. A pair of Comply foam tips are included.

The 350 earphones are constructed of durable, sweatresistant materials, Logitech said, and also have customizeable ear cushions. The frequency range and impedance are the same as the 500 earphones. Suggested retail is $49.99.

The last model, the 200 earphones ($29.99), has five sizes of ear cushions like the other models but it also comes in a choice of three colors: pink, black or blue. Frequency range is listed at 20Hz to 15kHz, with an impedance of 16 ohms.

Logitech also announced two headsets for use with phones with 3.5mm jacks. The Ultimate Ears 500vi ($79.99) and 200vi ($39.99) noise-isolating headsets feature integrated microphones. iPhone callers can use oncord controls to switch between music and phone calls, as well as change tracks and adjust volume.

As with the 500 earphones, the 500vi headset comes with Comply foam tips. Both models come with a portable hard case and five sets of ear cushions.

All of the products are scheduled for September availability.
