Kensington Grows Certified iPhone Line

Redwood Shores, Calif. — Kensington continued to roll out additions to its fall line, adding five new Works with iPhonecertified charging accessories and a pair of car mounts.

Kensington’s Charge and Sync Dock (model K39257US, $29.99) includes a USB charging and sync cable and a non-slip base with recessed 30-pin connector to hold an iPhone securely in portrait position for topple-free FaceTime chats. Inserts are included to accommodate iPhone 4, iPhone 3G S, iPhone 3G and iPod Touch. The portable device weighs less than 4 ounces. It measures less than 3.5 inches tall and less than an inch wide.

The company’s Nightstand Charging Dock (K39258US, $39.99) is an app-driven unit that transforms an iPhone or iPod touch into a bedside clock and weather center. The dock holds the iPhone or Touch in landscape mode using a kickstand to clearly display the time and weather without going into sleep mode, and it has optional screen dimming. The free Kensington Nightstand Clock & Weather app is available from the Apple App store. A Charging cable is included.

Three new Kensinhgton charging accessories take three different form factors.

Kensington’s Charging Dock with Mini Battery Pack (K39265US, $69.99) simultaneously charges an iPhone and a mini battery pack that can be carried for backup power. The battery pack extends play time up to 30 hours of music, six hours of video and three hours of talk, the company said. The new Travel Battery Pack and Charger (K39264US, $69.99) is a larger cable-less power pack that doubles as a kickstand. It extends play time up to 23 hours music, seven hours of video or five hours of talktime. An LED displays remaining battery pack power level.

Kensington Mini Battery Pack and Charger (K33459USA; $39.99) is a step-down mini charger that adds 15 hours to music playback, four hours of video and three hours of talk. It includes a retractable USB charging cable. The battery pack is small enough to keep connected to the iPhone or iPod, according to the company. It also has an LED power-level meter.

For the car, Kensington’s SoundWave Sound Amplifying Car Mount (SKU 39255US, $39.99) has a built-in amp system that doubles the volume of the iPhone speaker. The cradle mounts to the windshield or vent.

Finally, Kensington’s Quick Release Car Mount (SKU39256US, $29.99) has a flexible shock-absorbing arm. It includes both windshield and vent mounts.
