DEG Names New Board, Members

LOS ANGELES —Digital Entertainment Group (DEG) has named a new board of directors and welcomed in a number of new company members.

The new board is to serve for the coming fiscal year (Aug. 1 - July 31). Lori MacPherson of Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment joins the DEG board. She replaces Disney’s Bob Chapek who has left the board.

Four of the five-member executive committee were re-elected, as David Bishop, president, worldwide home entertainment, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, was named the new VP. Ron Sanders was re-elected president; Craig Kornblau was reelected VP; Mike Dunn was re-elected secretary; and Eisuke Tsuyuzaki was re-elected chief financial officer. The officers will serve a two-year term.

New member companies named to the board are Summit Entertainment, represented by Stephen Nickerson, and Universal Music Group, represented by Jim Belcher.

During the upcoming fiscal year, the DEG said it will continue its efforts in support of home entertainment products, including Blu-ray Disc, home 3D and digital delivery.

Eight new member companies have been added to the group, including A&E Television Networks, Amazon. com, IMAX Corporation, RealD, Samsung Electronics, SRS Labs, Testronics and Verance.

The new DEG executive committee includes the following: Ron Sanders (Warner Home Video president), president; David Bishop (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Worldwide president), VP; Craig Kornblau (Universal Studios Home Entertainment president), VP; Mike Dunn, (20th Century Fox Home Entertainment president), secretary; and Eisuke Tsuyuzaki (Panasonic chief technology officer), chief financial officer.

Board members include Henry Mc- Gee, HBO Home Entertainment president; Tim Alessi, LG Electronics product development director; Steve Beeks, Lionsgate president; Eric Doctorow, MGM Home Entertainment Worldwide general manager; Blair Westlake, Microsoft media and entertainment group corporate VP; Dennis Maguire, Paramount Home Entertainment Worldwide president; Marty Gordon, Philips Electronics VP; Andy Parsons, Pioneer Electronics corporate communications and new product planning senior VP; Leslie Cohen, Sony Music Entertainment senior VP; Chris Fawcett, Sony Electronics home division TV business unit VP; Stephen Nickerson, Summit Entertainment home entertainment president; Jodi Sally, Toshiba America Consumer Products VP; Jim Belcher, Universal Music Group advanced technology and production VP; and Lori MacPherson, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment executive VP and general manager.
