CEA: Ballmer, Mobile Apps At CES 2011

ARLINGTON, VA. — The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) has begun to release details on the 2011 International CES, naming a keynoter and holding a mobile apps competition.Steve Ballmer, Microsoft CEO, will deliver a preshow keynote address during CES at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, in the Las Vegas Hilton Center. CES runs from Jan. 6-9.
CEA is holding Mobile Apps Showdown at the 2011 International CES. Nominations for the competition, now in its second year at CES, are now open, and mobile application developers can submit entries to be judged by a panel of tech experts.
Final-round judging will take place live at CES, and the winner will be announced on Jan. 8, 2011.

Winners will be picked from each of five platform categories: Android, Blackberry, iPhone, Nokia and Palm Web OS. There will be a winner from the online voters as well as from the live audience vote at the Showdown at CES, CEA said.
