Speck Adds To Artsprojekt Line

By Lisa Johnston -- TWICE, 3/22/2010

PALO ALTO, CALIF. —Speck announced it has added four new limited- edition iPhone cases to its Fitted Artsprojekt line.

Created by members of Artsprojekt’s international syndicate of artists, the new cases come in four themes: the Waves and Campsite designs by Montreal-based Eve Duhamel, the Bosque design by Buenos Aires duo Yo Amo La Leche, and the Chemical Girl design from Californian Caia Coopman.

“Today, artwork can be a functional and inspirational part of your life and that’s at the heart of our collaboration with Artsprojekt on these cases,” said Irene Baran, CEO of Speck, in a release.

All of the designs are said to be carefully printed on soft but durable fabric, which is then fused to Speck’s Fitted two-piece snap-together hard-shell case.

The founder of Artsprojekt, Andy Howell, said, “Artsprojekt’s Global Creative Network and Speck’s dynamite product designers have formed an ever-evolving collection to supply fans and retailers with an overflowing well of fresh designs. We are driven by innovation, collaboration, and inspiration, so it’s natural for our collaboration with Speck to land in an elite retailer like Apple.”

The new cases are currently available for a $39.95 suggested retail.

Speck also recently announced it has updated its line of Fitted cases with new colors and patterns. The cases, which retail for a suggested $29.95, now come in Houndstooth Yellow, Houndstooth Gray, Tartan Plaid, VeryPlaid Pink, LaserArgyle Coffee, AngleMash Pink, TechnoAngle, its Headphones print pattern, Pinstripe, Tan Houndstooth, and black and white plaid.
