MENLO PARK, CALIF. — As the $300 million State Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program (SEEARP) continues to roll out across the country, EcoRebates, a provider of Energy Star rebate solutions for retailers, manufacturers, program administrators and consumers, has introduced an online rebate-locator tool that provides shoppers with up-to-date information about their local cash-back programs. The locator is easily integrated into existing Web sites, the company said, and has already been deployed by Whirlpool and Sears.
The U.S. Department of Energy’s stimulus- funded “cash for appliances” program provides consumers with rebates of between $50 and $200 on energy-efficient refrigerators, dishwashers, clothes washers, air conditioners and water heaters.
Twelve states have launched self-administered rebate programs since December, with the balance slated to roll out their versions in March and Apri. The largest state program to date was New York’s, where $18.7 million in rebate funds were available from Feb. 12- 21.
