By Doug Olenick -- TWICE, 2/22/2010

RESEARCH TRIANGLE, N.C. — Lenovo has introduced two notebooks and an all-in-one PC into its consumer line.

The notebooks fall under Lenovo’s G series and will ship next month, while the C315 all-in-one will be available one month later.

The G-series entries consist of the G455 and G555. These have the same feature set, but the G455 has a 14-inch display and the G555 has a slightly larger 15-inch LCD.

The general specifications include AMD Turion II dual-core processors and ATI Radeon HD integrated graphics. Each has a newly designed ergonomic keyboard and Lenovo’s Energry Management 5.0 software, one-touch backup, a repair and recovery utility, and Veriface facial-recognition security software that uses a camera to log a person onto the computer.

The G455 has a $499 starting price, and the G555 will have a slightly higher, but as yet undecided price tag, the company said.

The C315 will be made available with a variety of AMD dual-core processors, 4GB of memory, and a 20-inch display has touchscreen capability. The computer will come bundled with a suite of touch-optimized titles. They are:
• PowerCinema lets users use multitouch gestures like panning, flicking, rotating and zooming to preview photos and videos.
• Photo AutoCollage everages multitouch gestures for photo organization and also automatically detects the main focus of a photo and automatically creates photo collages.
• VeriTouch lets users enter their log-in sequence by touch.

The C315 is expected to carry a $649 suggested retail.
