TWICE Retail Roundtable Discerns The Decade’s Best Growth Plays

LAS VEGAS — The consumer electronics industry is entering the second decade of the 21st century bruised but certainly not beaten.

Despite a lingering recession that continues to claim dealers of all sizes, and the maturation of the HDTV market that supported them, new opportunities abound in connectivity, wholehome control, energy management and the services to make them work.

Still, retailers face a sharp learning curve to master the new skill sets and must develop new business models to deliver them.

That was the take of top industry merchants attending TWICE’s annual Retail Roundtable panel, held last month during International CES. Readers are invited to “listen in” to the wide-ranging discussion via the edited transcript that follows.
