Seattle - Amazon tightened its relationship with cellular carrier T-Mobile.Consumers buying T-Mobile phones from AmazonWireless are now able to activate the phones with new T-Mobile service plans rather than just extend their existing T-Mobile individual service plans and family plans, Amazon announced. Consumers who start a new T-Mobile plan also get the option of porting their existing cellphone number from their previous service provider, Amazon added.
As an introductory offer, AmazonWireless customers who buy a T-Mobile through March 14 pay no activation fee, for a savings up to $35.
Following its beta launch in July, AmazonWireless offers more than 150 phones that can be activated on the AT&T, Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile networks. T-Mobile phones available through the site include the BlackBerry Bold 9700, Motorola Cliq Android phone, HTC Touch Pro2, T-Mobile 3G Dash Windows phone, the SonyEricsson Equinox phone and the Samsung Behold II.
