Sears Posts Higher Q4 Income, Lower Revenue

HOFFMAN ESTATES, ILL. — Sears Holdings reported higher operating income but lower revenues for the fiscal fourth quarter.

Operating income was $749 million for the quarter, compared with $325 million for the prior year’s quarter. Total revenues decreased $33 million to $13.2 billion for the quarter, ended Jan. 30.

For the quarter, domestic comp-store sales declined 2.5 percent and included an increase at Kmart of 1.7 percent, offset by a decline at Sears Domestic of 6.1 percent. Declines in sales for the quarter and year at Sears Domestic include decreases electronics and appliances.
