Logitech Updates Harmony Line, Intros Clip-On Speaker

Fremont, Calif. - Logitech has added to its line of Harmony remote controls with the addition of two new models.

The 600 model ($79.99) has a monochrome backlit screen that displays power and volume commands, while the 650 ($99.99) has a color screen that displays channel icons as well as commands.
To set up the remotes, users go to www.logitech.com/myharmony to download software, eliminating the need to program codes, the company said. More than 250,000 devices from more than 5,000 brands are reportedly supported.
"From Betamax to Blu-ray, you can be sure the Logitech Harmony remote can control virtually any IR home-electronic device," the company said.
Both are remotes are scheduled to be available this month.
Logitech also introduced its Z205, a lightweight laptop speaker with a clip-on design. It measures 1.35 inches thick and 2.5 inches tall.
Features include two high-performance drivers, a built-in amplifier and an acoustically tuned enclosure. The volume and on/off can be adjusted using buttons on top of the speaker. It is powered via an included USB cable.
It's scheduled to be available this month for $39.99.
