V-Moda Updates Headphones With Remix Remote

By Lisa Johnston -- TWICE, 2/25/2010

Hollywood, Calif. - V-Moda unveiled its latest pair of headphones today, the Remix Remote, which fulfills its namesake by featuring a three-button remote.

V-Moda called the Remix Remote a completely redesigned version of the company's original in-ear headphones. Updated features include remastered drivers and silicone fittings, as well as an all-metal construction and Kevlar-reinforced cables.

The in-line remote and high-fidelity microphone allows hands-free access for users to answer calls and control music playback, VoiceOver or Voice Control functions, V-Moda said. Compatible devices include the iPhone 3G S, second-generation iPod Touch, fourth- and fifth-generation Nano, third-generation Shuffle, 120GB and 160GB Classic, MacBook (unibody) and MacBook Pro (unibody).

The headphones' drivers are of the 9mm neodymium dynamic V-Masque variety, and the company's Beat-Port air-flow system is engineered to deliver a "high-definition soundstage." The BLISS (Bass Level Isolating Soft Silicone) noise-isolating technology further reduces outside noise and enables deep punchy bass, the company added.

The headphones are packaged with detachable sport earhooks with Active Flex technology, which are designed to let the headphones adjust independently to each ear regardless of the earhook's position.

The Remix Remote headphones are currently available for a $99.99 suggested retail in Apple's retail stores and on V-Moda's Web site. They will be sold on Apple.com beginning in March and later in the year through other retail channels, V-Moda said.
