Sanyo Bows Light, Bright 3LCD Projector

Chatsworth, Calif. - Sanyo said Friday it has added a new lightweight portable 3LCD projector capable of producing 4,500 lumens of brightness and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, for corporate and institutional applications.

Model PLC-XU116, which ships this month at a $2,795 suggested retail, weighs 7.7 pounds and offers "the industry's highest brightness for its class," Sanyo said.

Resolution is listed as 1,024 by by 768 (XGA), with a 4:3 aspect ratio. The throw distance is 3.1 feet to 37.6 feet.

Image size ranges from 40 inches to 300 inches.

The projector includes a wired LAN (RJ-45 port for projector monitoring and control over a network, including power on/off and switching of the input signals.

Inputs include DVI and VGA, in addition to a USB display for easier use and setup with PCs and laptops.

The projector comes with a three-year warranty on parts and labor, and 90 days on the original lamp.
