DXG Unveils 2010 Camcorder Mix At CES

DXG used International CES to introduce a new Pro series line of digital camcorder/cameras featuring optical zoom and peak high-definition performance.

The company will launch the series with the release of the DXG A80.

Basic features for the model include 10-megapixel CMOS HDV image capture using an Ambarella A5/Aptina Mi-10030 CMOS sensor, video resolution of 1080i/60 fps (1,920 by 1,080), 720p/60 fps, WVG Ap60 triple stream (2-megapixel still, plus FullHD video and QVGA video), a 3-inch (16:9) TFT LCD touchscreen, 5x zoom lens, 10x digital zoom, electronic image stabilization, USB in/out and HDMI output.

The camcorder will also include a rechargeable li-ion battery and remote control.

The company is also offering the new Quickshot line offering high-definition shooting on a budget.

Basic specifications for models in the line, which ship in March, include a pistol-grip form factor, 5-megapixel CMOS HDV shooting, a Zoran C-11s, OV5653 CMOS sensor, 720p/30 fps motion JPEG image capture, up to 12-megapixe' (interpolated) still image shooting, a 2.4-inch TFT LCD screen, fixed focus lens with 4x digital zoom function, USB in/ outs, A/V-out, and choice of li-ion NP60 battery or four alkaline AAA batteries.

The camcorders will be offered in a choice of colors, including silver, midnight blue, plum and red.

Also on tap at the show were the DXG Luxe Collection of Couture HD camcorders, with new trendy high-fashion designs, and the DXG Sportsters line of waterproof and rugged HD camcorders, which will formally launch later in the second quarter of 2010.

Basic specs for the Sportsters include: two form factors including a pistol grip or a football grip, 5-megapixel CMOS HDV, Zoran C10p and OV5653 CMOS sensor, 720p/30 fps video, still image resolution of up to 12-megapixel (interpolated), 3-inch (16:9) TFT LCD, fixed focus lens with 8x digital zoom, USB in/out, HDMI in, waterproof IPX8 design, to 5 meters for 30 minutes and li-ion rechargeable battery.
