Runco Adds Dealer Tool Smartphone Apps

Beaverton, Ore. - Runco said it has launched a new "mobile Web site," offering new Web-enabled "dealer tools" that can be accessed through mobile devices including iPhones and BlackBerrys.

The first tool from the site (http://m.runco.com) is a projector lens selector that will help dealers in the field quickly determine the correct Runco lens for each installation application.

Using the app, dealers input the screen width, aspect ratio and throw distance of the projector, and the application will make the calculations and identify the best lens for the job.

The Runco Projector Lens Selector also alerts dealers when no lens options are possible to fit the installation parameters - an indication that one of the variables may need to be changed to achieve the perfect installation.

iPhone users can save the site as an app icon and BlackBerry users can bookmark the page to quickly navigate to the site hosting the tool.

"In an effort to provide our dealers with tools that make them successful, Runco welcomes its dealers to submit their ideas to marketing@runco.com for additional mobile tools for the site," the company said in a statement.
