Ingram Micro Integrating DBL

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. — DBL Distributing, which was acquired by Ingram Micro in 2007 as a wholly owned subsidiary, is being integrated into the company as a dedicated CE division.

The operation, renamed Ingram Micro consumer electronics division, will continue to operate as a separate line of business within the Ingram Micro portfolio, the company said.

Strategic divisions senior VP John Soumbasakis said the new division represents “a key milestone in our company's growth strategy” as CE and IT products continue to converge, and will “serve as a catalyst for generating growth” in both categories for current Ingram Micro customers and DBL's 30,000-plus CE retailers.

Ingram added that the CE division will build on DBL's mix of more than 20,000 products from more than 500 product lines, and will benefit from Ingram Micro's worldwide logistics, operational efficiencies and comprehensive IT portfolio.

“We are embracing the Ingram Micro name to showcase our strengths as a focused consumer electronics distributor, while leveraging the resources and operational efficiencies of a Fortune 100 logistics company,” said Brent McCarty, VP/general manager of DBL Distributing.
