Stinziano Exits D&M, Joins Samsung As VP

By Joseph Palenchar -- TWICE, 12/21/2009

Joe Stinziano has joined Samsung Electronics America, where he has been appointed to the newly created position of senior sales VP for the consumer electronics division.

Stinziano left D&M Holdings earlier this month as senior sales and marketing VP for the Denon and Boston Acoustics brands.

At Samsung Stinziano will be responsible for all electronics division sales efforts in the U.S., “allowing Samsung to be more responsive to its customers' needs,” the company said. Stinziano will lead national, distributor and B to B accounts as well as regional sales efforts. Regional sales efforts will be split into East and West regions. Those regions will be headed up sales VP John Affriol and sales director Chris Annen, respectively.

Stinziano has more than 20 years of experience managing brands in the CE, telecom and IT industries. He spent three years at D&M, preceded by 10 years at Sony in the company's A/V and recording media businesses. He also spent eight years at AT&T/Lucent.

At D&M Phil Cohn, senior sales and marketing VP for D&M's Marantz and Escient, will oversee the sales and marketing operations of Denon and Boston Acoustics.

In addition, Marantz executive Kevin Zarow will be promoted to sales and marketing senior VP for Marantz and Escient.

Cohn, a 20-year CE industry veteran, has held multiple roles at D&M, including sales and marketing VP for Boston Acoustics. He previously held sales and management roles with Sony Electronics and Samsung Electronics.

Zarow has been with Marantz for more than 15 years. His most recent position was marketing and product development VP for Marantz and Escient. Before joining Marantz, he was with Philips.
