Screen Excellence Debuts New Fabric
-- TWICE, 12/7/2009
Bellingham, Wash. — Screen Excellence has announced a new acoustically transparent (AT) and neutral fabric for its projection screens called Enlightor 1 SilverBack (EN1SB). The company said the new fabric allows for the lowest insertion loss of any AT screen fabric on the market today.
EN1SB is the same material as the current EN1 fabric from Screen Excellence, with the addition of a silver-coated reflective backside that is said to help mitigate visible reflections from projected light that gets through the screen and bounces off the wall or objects behind the screen, like speakers.
The company said EN1SB eliminates the need for the black backing layer needed behind most acoustically transparent screens.
Screen Excellence manufactures 16:9 motorized screens (RM models) with EN1SB in widths up to 128 inches and widescreen format (2.37:1) motorized screens with EN1SB are available in widths up to 170 inches. Fixed 16:9 screens with EN1SB are available in widths up to 160 inches and fixed widescreen models are available up to 214 inches wide. Prices for screens with EN1SB start at $745.
