Vizio: Week's Sales Up 40% From '08
By Greg Tarr -- TWICE, 12/7/2009
IRVINE, CALIF. — Vizio reported U.S. consumers purchased more than 280,000 Vizio HDTVs during Black Friday week, up 40 percent over the same period last year.
The increase was attributed in part to the popularity of the company's higher performance HDTV offerings, including such features as TruLED backlighting with Smart Dimming, fast 120/240Hz refresh rates and a full product range from 19 to 55 inches.
“Thanks to the strength and efficiency of our valued retail partners such as Costco Wholesale, Sam's Club, Walmart, Target, BJ's Wholesale, Sears, Dell, Nebraska Furniture Mart, BrandsMart and Tiger Direct, Vizio has achieved another record-breaking year of Black Friday sales of HDTVs, Blu-ray players, high-definition sound bars and high performance HDMI cables,” stated Laynie Newsome, sales and marketing communications VP and Vizio co-founder.
“We consistently strive to offer consumers more and are pleased to see the great success of our high performance products which allow us to continue to grow and expand Vizio products to a wider range of consumers seeking the latest technology at a great value,” she said.
