PNY Partners With Sony For Movie-Download Promo

Parsippany, N.J. - PNY Technologies announced it has partnered with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment for a movie-download promotion.

PNYSpecially marked PNY products will allow consumers to download free Sony Pictures movies.With every new purchase of specially marked PNY 8GB and 16GB Attache USB flash drives, Optima SDHC flash-memory cards and MicroSDHC flash-memory cards, consumers will receive one bonus full-length movie download from Sony Pictures, valued at approximately $10, PNY said.

The PNY GeForce 200-series graphics cards will include two bonus full-length movie downloads, valued at approximately $20.

Consumers can reportedly choose from more than 35 movie titles, including "The Da Vinci Code," "Rudy," "As Good As It Gets" and "Muppets from Space." The movie can be downloaded directly to a PC hard drive or memory card, and can be viewed as many times as a user wishes. The movie can also be viewed from up to two different PCs, PNY said.

Dean Delserro, PNY's flash senior marketing manager, said, "This partnership with Sony Pictures allows us to offer a broad catalog of feature films and an outstanding digital movie platform, giving consumers the freedom of choice and flexibility, all while providing a terrific value-add."

Pete Wood, international business development digital media VP of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, said, "As we continue to explore new distribution outlets, we're confident PNY is aligned with our vision for how digital content will evolve, and we are pleased to work together on a program that introduces consumers to flash memory as a vehicle for consuming entertainment."

The promotion will begin Dec. 1 and will be available nationally in mid-December through major retailers, including Best Buy, Walmart and Staples, as well as regional retailers and online shopping destinations. Movies can be downloaded from www.pny.com/movies starting Dec. 1.
