Vudu Adds Wikipedia Info Links For Movie Titles

Santa Clara, Calif. - Vudu said through a blog on its Web site Tuesday that the streaming and download movie/TV service has integrated Wikipedia information access into the Vudu interface.

While browsing for movie purchase or rental selections, Vudu users may select the Wikipedia menu item on the page for any movie and find out what the world has to say about it.

The system will also enable navigating through all of the links on the Wikipedia page from the TV screen, in the same manner as the PC experience.

Vudu will automatically create links back into the Vudu service for any movie, actor or director it knows about.

Users may navigate from a movie to the Wikipedia article of an actor in that movie to that actor's filmography on Vudu, the company said.

The capability has been added to all Vudu customers, regardless of which device model they use.

Vudu said the Wikipedia is the latest addition to the service, which will continue to expand over time
