Nintendo Offers Black Friday DSi Promo

Redmond, Wash. - Nintendo said it will offer special DSi-plus-software bundles for a Black Friday promotion beginning Nov. 27.DSiOne of two special Black Friday versions of the DSi comes bundled with five Mario titles.

Consumers can purchase blue or white DSi handhelds that are pre-installed with more than $20 in software, until supplies run out.

"These limited-edition bundles come packed with some of the great Nintendo DSiWare games and applications that have made Nintendo DSi such a big hit with shoppers young and old," stated Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America's sales and marketing executive VP "The special price and pre-installed titles make the bundles a huge value for the holidays."

According to a Nintendo spokesperson the special DSi bundles will carry a $169.99 estimated street price but retailers are free to set their own pricepoints.

The blue DSi will come with five Mario-themed DSiWare titles, including Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again; Dr. Mario Express; WarioWare: Snapped!; Mario Calculator; and Mario Clock.

The white DSi bundle offers brain-teaser titles, including Brain Age Express: Arts & Letters; Brain Age Express: Sudoku; Brain Age Express: Math; Clubhouse Games Express: Card Classics; and Photo Clock.

Through the end of September, total worldwide sales of the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi game systems totaled more than 113 million, according to Nintendo's financial statement. Of those, more than 33.4 million have sold in the United States through the end of September, according to The NPD Group.
