Samsung Unveils Black Friday TV Specials

Ridgefield Park, N.J. - Samsung Electronics America revealed a slate of products it has positioned for aggressive holiday promotions.

From Nov. 22 until Nov. 30 the company will offer five Samsung premium HDTV models at reduced sale prices:

The Samsung 46-inch LN46B500 46-inch LCD HDTV will be available at an $849 suggested street price. The unit features Full HD 1080p resolution, a 40,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, more realistic and sharper picture quality, SRS TruSurround HD audio and two HDMI inputs.

The Samsung 40-inch LN40B500 LCD HDTV will be available at a $599 suggested street price. The set features Full HD 1080p resolution, 40,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio for more realistic and sharper picture quality, SRS TruSurround HD audio and two HDMI inputs

The Samsung 22-inch LN22B350 LCD HDTV will be available at a $249 suggested street price. The set features 720p HD resolution, piano black design, one HDMI input, one PC input and one headphone jack.

The Samsung 50-inch PN50B400 plasma HDTV will be available at a $699 suggested street price. The set features 720p HD resolution clear plasma action with 600Hz subfield motion, a 2,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and SRS TruSurround HD audio.

The Samsung 42-inch PN42B400 plasma HDTV will be available at a $549 suggested street price. The set features 720p HD resolution clear plasma action with 600Hz subfield motion, a 2,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and SRS TruSurround HD audio.

Other Black Friday weekend specials will include the PN50B530 50-inch Full HD 1080p plasma at an $899 suggested street price, as well as values on Blu-ray players and home-theater systems, Samsung said.

In announcing the specials, Samsung cited a recent Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) survey that showed 80 percent of adults will be purchasing a new gadget during the holiday season - the highest percentage in 16 years.

In addition, consumer electronics products comprise four out of the top 10 items on adults' holiday wish lists, including computers, video games, TVs and digital cameras.

"Consumer electronics are a hot ticket item every holiday season, and this year will be no different," stated John Revie, Samsung visual display marketing senior VP. "During the holidays, we feel it is a time to deepen our engagement with existing customers, while reaching new audiences, and these special values are a way to make that happen."
