Nashville, Tenn. — Griffin Technology recently introduced a variety of cases for the iPhone 3G and 3G S.
The new Elan Form Etch is constructed of leather bonded to a “near-indestructible” polycarbonate inner shell, for two layers of protection, Griffin said. The leather outer layer is decorated with detailed etched pattern and an overstitch accent. The company's EasyDock design lets users slip open the bottom of the case to fit an iPhone in any universal dock, without removing the iPhone from its case.
Patterns for the Elan Form Etch ($34.99 suggested retail) include Rewind, Stars, Chess Taupe, Chess Black, Solstice Taupe, Solstice Black, 405 and Vintage Brown.
The Outfit ($24.99) is a polycarbonate, no-clip case that's said to let the bottom of the case slide on and off for quick docking. It is available in black translucent and white translucent colors.
The Outfit Shade ($29.99), meanwhile, is also a polycarbonate, no-clip case, but it features a metallic graduated tint finish. It also features an EasyDock design. Four colors are offered: blue lime, magenta and silver.
Billed as the company's thinnest case, the Reveal ($24.99) has a one-piece, polycarbonate shell that measures 1.4mm. It also features slim rubber accents. Seven colors are available; blue, red, magenta, purple, pink, white and black.
The Reveal, in both black and white, and Elan Form Etch, Vintage Brown, are currently available. The rest of the cases will be available in the fall, Griffin said.
