AverMedia Says TV Solutions Are All Windows 7 Compatible

By Greg Tarr -- TWICE, 10/23/2009

Milptas, Calif. - AverMedia Information USA said this week that its digital laptop and desktop PC TV tuner and DVR solutions are fully compatible with the new Windows 7 operating system.

All of the company's Windows 7 compatible products also now work with Windows 7 improved Windows Media Center without the need for addition software or firmware updates, the company said.

Products that will now feature the "Compatible with Windows 7" logo include:

AVerTV Hybrid Volar MAX

AVerTV Combo G2 (retail and white box and Media Center upgrade kit)

AVerTVHD Volar MAX

AVerTVHD MCE

AVerTV DVD EZMaker USB Gold

The company said its AVerTVHD Duet PCI Express "is the first PCI-E TV Tuner that was certified by Microsoft as fully Compatible with Windows 7."

The AVerTVHD Duet was the first tuner on the market to receive Microsoft's AQ standard (specifically for Windows 7) for PCI-E TV tuners.

The AVerTVHD Duet PCI Express is a single HDTV signal input with dual digital capabilities to receive high definition Digital TV over-the-air (ATSC) or unencrypted digital cable (ClearQAM) signals directly to your PC.

Meanwhile, the recently released AVerTVHD Volar MAX is an external USB add-on device, designed to bring over-the-air SD and HD TV reception to Windows or MAC laptops and notebooks on the go.

The similar AVerTV Hybrid Volar MAX is a PC-only device and offers the same performance and feature benefits as the AVerTVHD Volar MAX, plus the ability to toggle between digital and analog (NTSC) signals.

The AVerTV Combo G2 is billed as a PCI Express TV tuner card and DVR solution that allows watching one program, while recording another, or recording two programs simultaneously.

The AVerTVHD MCE is a full height PCI ATSC HDTV card for receiveing free over-the-air digital TV or unencrypted ClearQAM HDTV reception.

The DVD EZMaker USB Gold allows creating DVD quality home movies and converting VHS tapes to DVDs.
