Basking Ridge, N.J. - Verizon Wireless launched two new 3G-embedded HP netbooks - the HP Mini 311-1037NR and the HP Mini 110-1046NR, expanding its 3G netwbook selection to four.

Like the HP Mini 1151NR launched in May by Verizon, the two new models operate in U.S. CDMA 1x EV-DO Rev. A networks and, thanks to Qualcomm's Gobi chipset, in quad-band EDGE and triband 3G HSPA mode in foreign countries. Consumers get an EDGE/HSPA SIM card when they sign up for a global data plan.

Another Verizon netbook, the Gateway LT2016u launched in early October, operates in 3G mode only in Verizon's U.S. network.

The HP Mini 311-1037NR features Windows 7 Home Premium OS and will eventually replace the XP-based HP Mini 1151NR, a spokeswoman said. The 1037NR retails for $249.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement on a mobile data plan. The HP Mini 110-1046NR will be available in mid-November for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement on a data plan. Mobile broadband plans for the netbooks start at $39.99/month for 250MB of data, with overage costing 10 cents per MB. Customers receive the rebate in the form of a debit card.

The 1037NR is available sold through Verizon's web site, Verizon's Communications Stores, and business channels. Distribution plans for the 1046NR weren't announced. The previously launched 1151NR and Gateway models are available through the carrier's web site and Verizon-owned Communications Stores. All currently available models are also available to indirect retailers tosell.

The HP Mini 311-1037N features Windows 7, 11.6-inch HD LED widescreen display (1366 x 768), Intel Atom Processor N270, processor speed of 1.60GHz, 2GB RAM, 160GB hard drive, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, webcam, integrated 5-in-1 digital media reader, one HDMI output, Bluetooth, and six-cell lithium-ion battery for up to 6.25 hours of Windows 7 usage.

The HP Mini 110-1046NR features Windows XP Home Edition, 10.1-inch SD LED anti-glare widescreen display (1024 x 576), Intel Atom Processor N270, processor speed of 1.6GHz, 1GB RAM, 160 GB hard drive, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/, webcam , integrated 5-in-1 digital media reader, and three-cell lithium-ion battery for up to 3.5 hours usage with Windows XP.
