hhgregg Coming To New Jersey
By Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 10/13/2009
Indianapolis - hhgregg's aggressive build-out into the Mid-Atlantic States will bring it into New Jersey next spring.
According to a report in The Press of Atlantic City, the multiregional CE and appliance chain will be moving into a former Circuit City storefront in Hamilton Township, located about 10 miles from Atlantic City.
hhgregg expects to open the store in about six months.
The Garden State location is one of about 45 new stores planned for next year in the Mid-Atlantic market, including the Baltimore, Washington and nearby Philadelphia metro areas.
hhgregg's initial entry into South Jersey could foreshadow a marketplace clash with regional powerhouses Sixth Avenue Electronics and P.C. Richard & Son. New Jersey-based Sixth Avenue opened the first of several planned Philadelphia-area stores last spring, while Long Island-based P.C. Richard has opened a major distribution center in Central New Jersey along with a number of new satellite stores there this year.

I know that hhgregg does not go into a market without a plan to dominate that market. I guess it comes down to who had the biggest pocket.

You are an idiot. Do your research. HH Gregg is a debt free company. Every store in the chain turns a profit. The only bad news is for whomever you work for.

I think I have seen this movie before. The outcome will not be pretty, but as long as hope is peddled and stock holders are duped, the producers and directors will have a great time. What an industry!
