TWICE is pleased to announce the winners of its sixth annual Excellence in Retailing Awards.
The awards program was created to honor best-of-breed merchants in consumer electronics and major appliance retailing.

The winners were selected by the editors of TWICE in each of five categories based on channel of distribution and business model. Those classifications are:
Best National Retailer:
Best Buy Upbeat On Holiday Prospects
Best CE/Appliance Dealer:
hhgregg Cops Second Consecutive Win In CE/Majap Category
Best Consumer Direct Dealer
Amazon.com Reclaims The Best Consumer Direct Award
Best Vendor Retailer:
Apple Stores Takes Best Vendor Award
Best A/V Specialty Dealer:
Starpower Takes 2nd A/V Specialty Nod
Special 100th Anniversary Commemoration
P.C. Richard Marks 100th Anniversary
Given the extraordinary challenges of the past year, financial results were weighed against the ways in which dealers' responded to the macro-economic crisis (although at least two of our winners, Amazon.com and Apple, continued to generate strong sales and earnings).
While the field of worthy candidates within some channels was formidable, the final decisions ultimately went to those merchants that embody the best in consumer electronics and major appliances retailing.
