By Greg Tarr -- TWICE, 10/12/2009

General Imaging, which is the licensee of the GE digital camera brand in the United States, said it will soon ship its GE J-series digital camera line, including models J1050 and J1250.

Both point-and-shoot digital cameras come with a package of features, including pan-capture panorama for seamless, wide-angle shots; auto scene detection; blink, smile and face detection; image stabilization; and in-camera red-eye removal.

Each camera measures 0.8 inches thin, and includes a 2.7-inch LCD screen that is equipped with auto adjust brightness for optimized visibility indoors and outdoors.

The J1050 ($120 suggested retail) features 10.1-megapixel resolution and a 5x optical zoom lens.

The J1250 ($140) steps up to 12.2 megapixels of resolution, and also includes a 5x optical zoom lens.

Both J-series models are available in a choice of color options and include a rechargeable li-ion battery.
