Sears, Kmart Accepting Gaming Pre-Orders Online

Hoffman Estates, Ill. - Sears and Kmart will begin accepting pre-orders for forthcoming video game titles and hardware through their respective Web sites.

Consumers can click on a pre-order banner slated for the sites' music, movies and gaming home pages and add selections to their carts by activating a "pre-order item" button.

Customers can also place pre-orders at in-store Web kiosks located within the CE departments of Sears and Kmart stores.

"Sears and Kmart are committed to providing customers exclusive shopping opportunities, such as online pre-sale programs, to ensure that they have primary access to the hottest video games and systems," said Karen Austin, home electronics president at Sears Holdings.

Austin said the chains carry a wide selection of top brands, including the newly discounted Nintendo Wii (reduced by $50) and Xbox 360 Elite and Sony PlayStation3 80GB (both reduced by $100), as well as accessories and titles compatible with nearly every system on the market.

Titles available for pre-order include PSPgo (available Oct. 1); Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (available Oct. 13); Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (available Nov. 10); Guitar Hero: Van Halen (available Dec. 22); and Bioshock 2 (available Feb. 9, 2010), Sears said.
